Passport Documents Required at PSK

Here is the compiled list of the documents that the Passport Seva Kendra center will request you to submit:

• Birth certificate or your educational degrees that shows your date of birth
• Address proof (utility bills, Bank account statement, Voter ID, ration card, and other such documents that show your address proof)
• ID proof (PAN, Aadhar card, driving license, voter ID)
• Affidavit Annexure I and Annexure B, if you are a government employee

In addition, you must bring passport-size photographs. The picture must be clicked in a light and color background and your face must be clearly visible.

Passport Seva Renewal

For renewal, you might have to bring an additional set of documents as requested by the professionals. Similarly, the documents you are required to submit at the Passport Seva verification center will depend on the services you need. If you need to change the address, surname, or update other such information, then address proof or marriage certificate is mandatory. Make sure you get a copy of the appointment application and the payment Receipt. You will be asked to show your appointment documents and payment details. Payment for the appointment can be made directly through the passport Seva Kendra website. Alternatively, you can make a cash payment.

Here’s how you can book an appointment through Passport Seva Portal:

• Step 1: Visit the official website of the Passport Seva
• Step 2: Complete your registration process by navigating to the 'New user registration' option on the left corner of the screen
• Step 3: Use your login credentials to log into your account with your user ID
• Step 4: Choose 'Apply for Fresh Passport' if you are planning to get a new passport issued
• Step 5: If your passport is lost, stolen, or missing, you may have to apply for a passport re-issue. Similarly, you need to apply for passport renewal online, if it is expired. The information you enter in the form will get printed on the passport, so double-check

Steps for Applying for Passport Offline

• Step 1: Visit the district passport cell
• Step 2: Bring your passport application with two passport-size photos
• Step 3: Bring the necessary documents for verification
• Step 4: Make the payment through DD for the appointment
• Step 5: Get an acknowledgment letter

Your initials, date of birth, and spellings must be correct. If you spot any error while filling the passport or renewal form, you will have to highlight them during the Passport Seva Kendra appointment. Once you are done submitting your passport application request, you will be assigned the Application Reference Number that can be used for tracking the status of your passport application in the future.

Passport Seva Kendra Appointment

You are now supposed to process the fees and book for an appointment. You can make the payment via debit/credit card or bank challan. You will find an option 'Check Appointment Availability' on the home page of Passport Seva website. You can also book a Tatkal appointment if there is an emergency passport renewal or re-issuing services, however, extra charges might be applicable. After payment, you will be asked to enter the details of your appointment and choose a suitable date and time for the appointment. In case if you are unable to attend on the appointed day, then you can always reschedule according to your convenience. The fee is not refundable if it’s been more than a year since you scheduled the appointment.

Each candidate is assigned a unique batch number and has to go through the security check procedure. The candidates are then given a token and they are asked to wait in the waiting room until their token number appears on the screen. Head to the designated counter and get your documents scanned and verified by a professional. They will capture your fingerprints and a photograph. As soon as this process is over, the PSK will print your personal information and ask you to sign the document.

The scanned document will be uploaded to the PSK portal. Further verification will be required before your passport is issued. Sometimes, the passport is not issued until the person gets the detailed police report. The verification office will change the status according to the accuracy of the documents and other details. Passport Police Verification

After the appointment, you will have to complete the police verification process, the proof of which will be printed on your acknowledgment letter. You can use this letter for passport Seva Kendra tracking. After verification, the passport will be sent to your address through speed post. The national or global passport Seva Kendra portal takes up to 45 days to issue a passport, but it might need more time to get your passport issued. Until then, you can use the passport Seva status check services to track the status of your application.
