Is it Possible to get a Slot without Registration?

The COVID vaccine registration website is designed to help citizens register their names for the vaccine without having to visit the centers. It is mandatory for citizens to complete the registration process for the COVID vaccine and get their vaccination slots online. Every citizen aged 18-44 years has to register for the vaccine online.

Walk-in services are unavailable currently (due to safety reasons). Besides, it is inconvenient for people to visit the hospitals and other COVID centers every day to find a slot. That’s why each citizen is mandated to book an appointment online and get the vaccination slot before heading to the vaccine center.

What are Vaccine Registration Charges?

The government is supplying the COVID vaccine for free in India. There are no registration charges. Therefore, ensure you complete the COVID-19 vaccine registration form online on the Cowin website only. Never pay anyone for booking a slot for you, as the COVID vaccine does cost a single penny.

However, this is only for those who get the vaccine at government centers. If you take vaccination at a private center, you will be charged anywhere between INR 400 and INR 1200 - depending on the vaccine.

Covishield is given at INR 400 and INR 600 per dose, while Covaxin is priced between INR 600 and INR 1200.

Second Dose of Vaccination

After the first dose of vaccine, the second dose should be taken in the next 2-3 months duration. The gap between the two doses was only a few weeks initially, but considering the growing demand for the vaccine, the government has extended the duration to 84 days. Both doses must be of the same vaccine type and you must get them within the recommended duration for the best effects. The sooner you take both doses, the stronger your immunity gets.

Like the first dose, self-registration for the COVID vaccine is available for the second dose too. The auto-scheduling option is no longer available on the portal, which means both the first-dose-citizens and those who need to get the second one are supposed to register manually. There must be no problem during registration, but if you face any difficulty, Call the national helpline number to get the issue resolved.

Once you have got the vaccination, the center will provide you with a certificate for the same. The digital copy of the certificate will be forwarded to your registered mobile number and it is available in PDF format. Do not forget to get your certificate, whether you are getting the first or second dose of COVID.

Approx. 25 Lakh cases of the COVID patients were reported in just 15 days. The condition was pretty serious in the densely populated states like Maharashtra, Punjab, New Delhi, and Rajasthan. Due to the growing number of cases of patients, these states requested the government to remove the age restrictions and make COVID vaccination available for all citizens no matter the age.

This third phase of the vaccination commenced in the beginning of May and it allowed people to register for their vaccination slot. You may have to wait for a few days before you find a center for the vaccine. Until then, keep trying and looking for the slot availability. As you filter the search list by your city’s pin code, the screen will show you the list of the centers available nearby. If the slots are available in multiple locations, you can choose the center located closest to your destination.

If you are not getting the slots, then there is no need to panic, as the government has announced that there is no shortage of vaccination. Everyone will get the doses. Ensure you check the COVID vaccine registration online portal India every day, till you get the slots.
