Established in Cairo, Arab League meaning refers to the amalgamation of the Asian and African nations. The main purpose behind forming the Arab League was to support independence and freedom among the 22 countries that were part of the league.
Some of the popular countries included in this 22 member list are Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, UAE, Yemen, and Kuwait. The members also include four observers – India, Venezuela, Brazil, and Eritrea.
The nations that are included in the Arab leagues are completely different on the Basis of literacy, life expectancy, GDP, growth, population, and wealth. Almost every nation added to the league is a Muslim country where a majority of the population follows Shari’ah. While each nation is considered an important part of the league, Egypt and Saudi Arabia enjoy dominance. Another major purpose of forming the Arab League was to promote the alliance between the Muslim countries. This league has made it possible for the members to cooperate with each nation and coordinate cultural activities and reduce conflicts.
The league was established in the year 1945 with the main purpose of protecting the Arab countries from colonial rule. At that time, many Arab nations were under the control of the Jewish authorities that wanted to convert the Muslim nations into the Jewish States.

The league is run and managed by the council, which is considered the most important member of the league. It comprises a few representatives from the countries that are the members of the Arab League, foreign ministers, and other executives. The meeting of the council is held twice annually, i.e. in September and March. In the council meeting, each country has a single vote. While the meeting is organized twice only, the members can ask for an additional session. However, two or more members must be willing for an extra session.
While the Arab League has proven to be a great way to bring different Muslim nations together, it has also become the primary cause of the conflicts that were created because of the division of the states. Each member has opinions that may differ from the views of another member of the league. For example, a few members from the Arab League supported the western nations during the cold war, while others were in favor of the Soviet Union. In addition to that, this division has led to the conflict between different members for power. There has been a serious conflict between Egypt and Iraq for authority. The major conflicts between the members of the Arab Leagues occurred when America attacked Saddam Hussein.
The main role of this league is confined to the issuing of certain declarations according to the votes of each member. The only exception to this is when the league decided to boycott Israel. This community has proven quite effective in a few areas, such as protecting manuscripts and supporting education.
