The Chennai Super Kings are sponsored by various other groups, including SEVEN, their official jersey partner. SEVEN is owned by MS Dhoni himself. Chennai Super Kings have been one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL. The team was founded in 2008 with famous players like Micheal Hussey and Muttiah Muralitharan. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the skipper of the team. However, in 2008, the team lost to the Rajasthan Royals.

  • In 2009, Chennai Super Kings faced defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore and failed to enter the finals.
