Daman and Diu is a union territory (UT) located in western India. It is the smallest federal division of India on the mainland. In 2019, a legal bill was passed to merge the union territory of Daman & Diu with its neighbouring territory Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Currently, both the UT has merged and became one.
The roads in the UT are well connected with the other states. The road tax is imposed under the Directorate of Transport of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNHDD).
The road tax is calculated on the Basis of the vehicle age, model, manufacturer, pricing, fuel type, engine capacity, seating capacity etc.
The Tax Rate for two-wheeler and four-wheeler is charged per year. They are as follows:
The tax for two-wheeler is calculated based on the engine capacity of the vehicle.
Currently, the Vahan tax for two-wheelers is Rs. 150.

The tax for four-wheeler is calculated based on the seating capacity of the vehicle. The vehicle includes auto-rickshaw, taxi, etc.
Fuel vehicle other than diesel is charged on every 100 kg, which are registered in laden weight - Rs.20
Vehicles are driven on diesel is charged on every 100 kg of registered laden weight- Rs. 25

All buses are charges Rs. 1.50 per seat, per km, annually of the total daily permitted or Rs. 24 per seat per month.
Tax on non-transport vehicles is calculated based on the cost of the vehicle.

Green tax is imposed on older vehicles because an old engine is harmful to the environment. Thus, the owner of the old vehicle is liable to pay a green tax. This tax is imposed on both private and commercial vehicle.
Non-transport vehicles completed 15 years from the date of registration at the time of renewal of a certificate of registration as per Sub-Section (10) of Section 41 under the Vehicle Act 1988 are charged as follows-

To pay road tax you can simply visit the nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO). Fill the form and pay tax along with the documents. After the payment, you will receive a payment Receipt, keep it safe for the future references.
