SBI Contra Fund was launched in the year July 14, 1999, with an aim to provide a long-term Capital appreciation to the investors through contrarian Investing. Being an equity-oriented fund, SBI Contra Fund is suitable for investors with a high-risk appetite. As an investment strategy, SBI Contra Fund follows a combination of top-down and bottom-up approach to stock-picking. Some of the top holdings of the fund as on 31/05/2018 are Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Eigi Equipments Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd, etc. SBI Contra Fund is currently managed by Dinesh Balachandran. The fund follows S&P BSE 500 Index as its benchmark.
Invesco India Contra Fund was launched in the year April 11, 2007. The fund aims to seek long-term capital appreciation by investing in equity and related instruments through contrarian investing. The fund invests its corpus in sound companies which are available at attractive valuations/undervalued or in turnaround phase. As on Jun 30, 2018 some of the top holdings of the scheme are HDFC Bank Ltd, Reliance Industries Ltd, Infosys Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd, ITC Ltd, etc. Invesco India Contra Fund is jointly managed by Taher Badshah and Amit Ganatra.
